This year’s Scarecrow & Fall Porch Décor Competition wrapped up with an exciting awards ceremony at Oktoberfest! With Visit Big Bear CEO, Travis Scott, kicking off the festivities, and with thanks to Monica and the Oktoberfest team for sharing the stage, it was the perfect day to celebrate Big Bear’s amazing autumn spirit (with plenty of beer and brats to go around).
And now…drumroll, please! 🥁 Here are your 2024 champions:
Scarecrow Contest - Business Category
Goldsmith’s Sports takes home First Place! With an epic outdoor-themed display, they truly brought Big Bear’s adventurous spirit to life. The Club at Big Bear Village was a close Second Place, adding that extra fall flair to the community. And in a surprise tie, Chirp Nature Center and Dubuque Construction: Spas & Plow each take home Third Place. Both of these businesses went all-out with creativity, and it was impossible to choose just one!
Homeowner Category Faves
Tasha Ross – 1st Place! Tasha’s cozy fall setup was chef’s kiss for autumn vibes!
Jim & Kasey Powderly – This duo grabbed 2nd Place with a festive setup that was totally swoon-worthy.
Cindy Atencio – 3rd Place, with a porch that spread all the autumn feels.

Gidget Martinez – 1st Place! Gidget’s display was a fall wonderland, welcoming all.
Daniel Cadena – A solid 2nd Place, bringing serious fall flavor.

Ingrid Olsen – Ingrid’s porch decor stole the show! From a band of pumpkins to leaves and lights it was a fall dream come true.
